Throughout this artistic journey, he came to a profound realization that despite the darkness that exists in the world, there is still an abundance of beauty and hope to be discovered. The "Hope" series is a celebratory expression of the resilience and beauty inherent in the human spirit and the world surrounding us. Sourena aimed to convey the same historical significance portrayed in her "Terra matter" series, but this time, using joyful colors and brighter tones to emphasize the hope and positivity that can be found in the world. He feels immensely grateful for this new perspective and the opportunity to share it with others through her art.
Urmia's Memory, Mixed-media & acrylic painting canvas, 116 x 84 cm, May 2020
The memories of Lake Urmia, a salt lake located in the northwest of Iran, hold a special place in my heart. It was once the largest lake in Iran and a part of the national park of the same name. The lake was a vibrant ecosystem, home to a wide variety of plant and animal species, and a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. However, it faced one of the great ecological disasters of recent history due to human activity and climate change, causing the lake to dry up significantly.
Despite this, there is hope for its rebirth. Recent reports indicate that the drying up of the lake has stopped, giving rise to the possibility of a resurgence of this unique and exceptional site. The narrator sincerely hopes that efforts to restore the lake and its ecosystem will continue, so that future generations can also experience the beauty and wonder of this natural treasure. Witnessing the lake come back to life and seeing the community thrive around it once again would bring immense joy to Sourena.
The lake and its surroundings hold a special place not only in Sourena's heart but also in the hearts of many Iranians. Together, they share the hope and determination to bring back the Lake Urmia of old, preserving its significance for generations to come.

Khazar lake at night, mixed-media & acrylic painting canvas, 70 x 70 cm, March 2020
Thus, always pushed towards new shores,
In the eternal night carried away without return,
Can we ever on the ocean of ages,
Drop anchor for a single day?
O lake! the year barely ended his career,
And near the cherished waves that he was to see again,
Looked ! I come alone to sit on this stone
Where did you see her sit?
You were bellowing like this under these deep rocks,
So you broke on their torn sides,
Thus the wind threw the foam of your waves
On her adored feet.
One evening, do you remember? We sailed in silence;
We could not hear far off on the waves and under the skies,
Than the sound of rowers beating rhythmically
Your harmonious waves. . .

In this painting, two fish take center stage, representing the astrological sign of Pisces and the months of February and March. The artwork carries a profound symbolism of blessings, birth, life, and stability. Rooted in traditional Feng Shui practices, the fish are believed to have the power to ward off evil forces and protect against the malevolent gaze of the evil eye. Every time Sourena looks in the mirror, he is immediately transported to the picturesque landscapes of his homeland, where the lush green of vast forests harmoniously blends with the deep blue of the Caspian Sea. The delicate cracks that dot the mirror reflect the many challenges he has faced in his life. Each crack tells a story of perseverance, courage, and determination in the face of adversity. These scars are a testament to his resilience and inner strength that have allowed him to overcome hardships and evolve into a stronger and more fulfilled individual.
This mirror is much more than a mere reflection of his physical appearance. It is a mirror of his soul, capturing the very essence of who he is as an individual. Each day, when Sourena looks into it, he is reminded that beauty lies in the authenticity of his being and in the experiences that have shaped his journey.

The TURQUOISE and the history of its mines, mixed-media & acrylic painting canvas, 70 x 70 cm, 2021
Turquoise, a beloved stone, holds a special place in the world of art and jewelry, particularly Persian turquoise, which is considered among the finest globally. Its unique color and mesmerizing patterns have captivated artisans and jewelers throughout history, making it a popular choice for their creations. However, the process of extracting this precious stone poses significant risks, often leading to lung diseases among the workers involved.

The mining process exposes them to harmful minerals, organic materials, irritants, and allergens, which can result in acute or chronic respiratory failure. The Swamp, mixed-media & acrylic painting canvas, 90 x 90 cm, 2016
The swamp in this painting is a metaphor for the current situation of the Iranian people. It reflects inner sadness and stagnation. The marsh is not a conducive place for human life, just as the current conditions for many Iranians may not be conducive to their flourishing. It represents unresolved issues that hinder growth and block active energies. The symbolism of mud, water, and mixed earth represents two feminine principles that are often passive and cause immobility, preventing any construction.

The legend of the dry tree , mixed medias on canvas, 70 x 50 cm, 2016
The legend of the withered tree is an interesting and mysterious tale that has been passed down through history by travelers and adventurers. The Bavarian adventurer Johannes Schiltberger associates it with the Oak of Mamre and claims that Muslims call it "Kurrutherek" or "Sirpe," the latter term referring to the Turkish-Persian word for "cypress." The Spanish ambassador Clavijo also discovered a withered tree in Tabriz, but it is not the same tree mentioned in the legend.
According to the legend of the city, Muslims wanted to cut down some trees at a time when Christians were arriving in the city, but the men wielding the axe died instantly. This story is a reminder of the power of nature and the consequences of our actions. It also reflects the different beliefs and cultural practices that have shaped the history and identity of the people in the region.
The narrator expresses sympathy for those affected by this legend and the loss of lives that resulted from it. They acknowledge the importance of respecting the beliefs and traditions of different cultures and being mindful of the impact of our actions on the environment. By sharing this legend, the author aims to provoke reflection on the interactions between humans and nature, as well as the significance of preserving and respecting the cultural diversity that shapes our world.
Zamin o zaman, mixed-media & acrylic painting canvas, 150 x 100 cm, 2016
Earth and time
The great atmosphere of my hometown, I walked through dirt-covered streets and quiet alleys, It was as blue and bright as a rainy day, And from the piles of thorns and stones, Came the sound of laughter and singing, It was as full and lively as a spring breeze In its sunny depths: the colors of the sand, With hues of indigo, orange, and blue, It was as charming as a beautifully woven carpet, The great atmosphere of my hometown In the silver light of dawn, The sight of migratory pigeons, Against the backdrop of white poplar trees, Their leaves rustling in the wind, It was as if the design of the land was alive.
